Christmas lights are one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring decorations during the 2019 holiday season. It is fun to grab your favorite people and just drive around town taking in the different light displays on a cold night. Louisville is one of the best places to enjoy Christmas lights there are special light display events as well as entire neighborhoods that go all out and encourage people to come by for a look.
An annual Louisville traditional at a hotel downtown, take in the gorgeous light display of larger than life lighted sculptures all over the landscape and stay for the other festivities that are all part of the bigger event that is Christmas at Galt House. In addition to the lights, you can also enjoy a dinner show, holiday retail marketplace, various Santa events, a life-sized gingerbread village, and more. Local residents have the opportunity to take part in the gingerbread house competition.
A fun neighborhood event that brings everyone in the area together to enjoy the season and hang out with the big man himself, Santa.
The Mega Cavern draws in visitors from all over year-round, but at Christmas time it is extra special. Families can enjoy a 30/40 minute ride through a portion of the cavern filled with more than 500 lit characters that include over 2 million points of light. This is the only light display of its kind on the planet.
Another yearly Louisville tradition to kick off the holiday season including activities the whole family will enjoy. Come out and hang with Santa and Mrs. Claus, listen to live music, get your face painted, take a carriage ride, have some refreshments, and more.
One of the most popular of Louisville holiday events. This one is an all day affair featuring live music, a parade, holiday market, and the grand finale of the lighting of Jefferson Square including the lighting of the big Louisville Christmas tree.
Come get your picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Clause, take a train ride or a horse-drawn carriage ride, listen to the strolling carolers, pet a fuzzy friend in the petting zoo, and enjoy cookies and hot cocoa and cider, plus much more. Stay until 6pm to watch the park light up with thousands of lights.

A fun laser light show at a historic Louisville property. The show runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) to the first weekend of the New Year. There is a fee per car for the show.
